COMMUNITY ENGAGEMENT FELLOWS: STATE-OF-THE-ART

February 19-21, 2020

Bellingham (Xwotqwem), Washington

Community Engagement Fellows: State-of-the-Art is intended for educational leaders who are considering establishing a version of the Fellows program in their region.  We welcome participants from higher education, public libraries, county extension offices, P-12 school systems, faith communities, and other community-based educational organizations.

During the three days in Bellingham/Xwotqwem, we will explore the learning theories and community development philosophies underlying this work, discuss the program's structure and evolving practices, demonstrate methods, and share about ongoing innovations.

We hope participants leave with confidence to use new methods within existing or new programming, and feel that they are a contributor to a dynamic and evolving network of social learning practitioners.

The event is being hosted by members of the Community Engagement Fellows Coalition, including those leading versions of the program in three distinct regions: Bellingham, Tacoma, and Cheney/Spokane.

Schedule:

Wednesday, February 19th to Friday, February 21st 2020

Each day will begin around 9:30 and end around 4:00.

Coffee, snacks, and lunches will be provided. We'll organize optional social hours in the evening, and people can self-organize for dinners as desired.

There is no registration fee. Participants are responsible for their own travel, lodging, and meals except for lunches.
