I hope a CE Fellows program will help my community by bringing together like-minded individuals who are currently doing their "soul work" in relative isolation and not getting the credit or recognition they deserve.
A key influence that led me to this work is/was my father who started bringing me to rallies and community development meetings when I could barely walk. He only had a Grade 8 education but was one of the most intelligent people I ever knew. As I was working on my PhD he always reminded me (so I would stay humble) that some of the stupidest people he knew had "big fancy degrees" - so remember your roots!
